Saimniecība Ūši

SIA Ūši was registered in 2004. The name of the Ūši homestead, like its people, is of Livonian origin. The farm's main activity is rural tourism. It specialises in cooking traditional Livonian food, offering tourists traditional lunches and master classes. On the menu are bukstiņbiezputra, sklandrauši (in Livonian - sūrkakūd) and other dishes. Services are available on request. The mistress of the homestead, Dženeta Marinska, leads cultural and historical tours in Kolka and the surrounding area, highlighting local traditions and food - for example, the walking route through the history of industrial Kolka "From Reval sprats to Riga gold", finishing with a tasting of sprats made in Kolka. The walk takes about 1.5 - 2 hours.In 2013 the farm was awarded the Cultural Heritage mark for promoting traditional food. The cultural mark "Latvian Heritage" is awarded to Latvian tourism businesses that preserve and promote Latvian cultural heritage by showcasing it in tourism.Since 2013 the farm has also held the "Green Certificate" quality mark. The "Green Certificate" is an environmental quality mark for rural tourism businesses that follow "green" principles, saving resources and creating tourism offers that are friendly to the environment and the local community.The nearby Cape Kolka, air filled with the scent of the sea and pines, and a distinctive sense of place are the hallmarks of Kolka, all absorbed by the Ūši homestead too. For more than ten years the farm has invited guests to discover the identity of Kurzeme's far northern corner while enjoying an unhurried holiday by the sea. Guests can stay in a separate small flat with a shower and WC in the farmhouse. The kitchen still has its wood-burning stove, there is a large area for tents, and the hosts rent out bicycles for rides around the area.
