Kagu

In 2021 home producer Karīna Bumbule from Alsunga parish started making the dry ice cream "Kagu". It is a natural, airy treat that melts on the tongue, free from food additives and preservatives. The product contains berries and fruit grown on the farm itself, as well as berries, fruit and fresh cream from other growers in the region. It is made using lyophilisation, which preserves 95% of the nutrients and keeps the taste just like a fresh product. Karīna is proud to have taken part in the LIAA pre-incubation programme as a trainee. She has also attended the 5-day youth training "Laukiem būt" held at the LLKC Kuldīga office, and in 2022 won 5th place in the "Laukiem būt" competition. Three of her products have also received regional taste awards in the Novada garša competition. In 2025, together with the family, we planted almost a hectare of asparagus. We grow what we ourselves love to eat, putting in care, work and passion. From 2026 we offer asparagus for sale.
